Deep tissue massage focuses on more specific areas, to release chronic muscle tension. A combination of slower stokes together with direct deep pressure and friction movements allow the muscle fibres to relax and become smoother. The areas of tension may be tender during or right after the massage, but this settles within a day or two followed by greater relaxation in those areas.
Why have a Deep Tissue Massage?
It feels good! It is also beneficial to your health.
This therapeutic massage brings blood and oxygen to the muscle which helps loosen it and release toxins. It is essential to drink plenty of water following a deep tissue massage, as with any massage, to encourage toxin removal and to avoid dehydration.
“As a lifelong sports fanatic I have now reached the age where the aches and pains caused by sport don’t seem to heal on their own. Sue somehow make you feel re-energized and I recommend anyone who has a sports injury to get in touch with Sue.”
